These are the rules for using Baloza. By using the service you accept them. There are few of them and they are written in plain language, because terms nobody reads are no use to anyone.
Baloza is a web application for organising a league between friends: availability, selections, teams, results, tables, awards and memories.
It is a personal, free project by Curzio Pinnelli (info@baloza.it). It is not a company, it sells nothing, and it has no support desk with guaranteed hours.
There are two routes, and they are not the same:
A league's code is an identifier, not a key: on its own it lets nobody in. A valid invitation is always required, and whoever administers the league can revoke one at any time without touching the others.
A league's founder and administrators have the final say on selections, teams, results, awards and who belongs to the group. Baloza does not step into those decisions.
If you add other people's data to a league — their name, their photograph, their position on the pitch — you are the one who answers for having the right to do so. That applies in particular to photographs and to data about minors. Baloza provides the tool; your relationship with the people in your group stays yours.
Content that is yours, or that you have the right to use, and that is lawful. Offensive, defamatory, discriminatory or illegal content is out of the question, as are images of people who have not agreed to appear.
Your content stays yours. You only authorise us to store and display it inside Baloza so the service can work: nothing else, and for as long as you keep it there.
Bear in mind that photographs are kept in a public store with unpredictable addresses: anyone who knows a photo's exact address can open it, even without an account. The detail, the reasoning and what it implies are in the privacy notice.
Match reports are generated by a language model from the data you entered. They can contain mistakes, exaggerations and inventions: they are post-match entertainment, not journalism, and should not be taken as a faithful account of what happened on the pitch.
Baloza is provided as is. We do what we can to keep it working and to keep the data where it belongs, but we promise no continuity of service, no absence of errors and no unlimited retention.
If your league has a history you care about, export the backup: the management screen produces a complete JSON file. It is the simplest way not to depend on us.
An account may be suspended or closed if it is used to abuse the service, to harm other people, or in breach of these terms. In cases that are not serious, we warn you first.
Baloza may change, lose features, or shut down: if it were to close, we would say so with reasonable notice, in time to export the data.
You can delete your account whenever you want, from the side menu of the app. If you have already played in a league, your profile is anonymised and the league's history stays readable for the others; if you founded a league that is still active, you must hand it over first. The exact details are in the privacy notice.
To the extent permitted by law, the controller is not liable for indirect damage arising from the use or unavailability of Baloza, nor for the loss of data for which no backup was made. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be excluded, including liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or the rights granted to consumers.
These terms may change. The date at the top says when that last happened, and significant changes are announced inside the app. If they do not suit you, you can close your account.
Italian law applies. For disputes with people using Baloza as consumers, the court of the consumer's place of residence or domicile has jurisdiction wherever the law makes that mandatory.
